We are releasing every ones favorite Spring Summer seasonal gin at the distillery on Saturday 3/29! If you did not get a chance to have this seasonal last year, we are giving you another chance! This citrus and floral gin is made with cherry blossoms, clover blossoms, rose petals. rose hips and lots of citrus tied together with fresh rosemary and of course juniper. We will get the party started at 1:00 and be selling bottles and giving tours till 4:00. Come out say “hi” and get a taste of Seasonal and year round gin.
What Saturday is too far away for you? Well you are in luck, we have two seasonal preview events. On Wednesday we will be at an event at Boundary Road on H street starting at 5:00. Their awesome staff will be whipping up specialty cocktails and we will be on hand to talk gin or whatever strikes your fancy. North East not your hood? The fine folks at Meridian Pint are hosting us on Thursday. Think they are a beer bar? Well they do great cocktails with our gin and have been one of our biggest supporters. We are excited to go hang for a night with them and some cocktails.
Come join us at Trohv Friday 3-14 for a localist party. There will be a celebration of all things local. We will be making cocktails and 3 Stars will be there pouring beer.
We are open at the distillery for sales 12/19-12/20 and 12/23 9-4. Your last day this year to come for Saturday Tastings, Tours and Sales will be on 12/21 from 1-5. We will be closed from 12/24-1/1 for the holidays. Gin makes a great gift, so come down and get something special for that someone special.
The distillery will be closed Thursday-Sunday. We are teaming up with Union Market this weekend for the Thread event at Dock5. We will be making cocktails to enjoy while you peruse the rows of designers and artisans. This would be a much more civilized way to spend your “Black Friday”. The event will run Friday 1-8, Saturday 11-8 and Sunday 11-5. We will be doing several different cocktails with both our year round gin and the Ginavit, fall/winter seasonal. We will also have bottles on sale for purchase at the event.
We will be releasing our second seasonal on November 2nd here at the distillery. Our gin and aquavit hybrid aka Ginavit was then aged in used Lairds apple brandy barrells. You dont want to miss the chance to get one of the most delicious and interesting gins we have had in a long time. We will of course be open from 1-4 for tastings tours and of course sales. There will be limited distribution in DC but there is very little to go around. Hope to see you at the distillery.
We are going on vacation for some well deserved RnR. The distillery will be closed from August 25 till September 2. We will not have open tastings or tours on August 31st. If you want gin direct from the distillery including some of the last of the spring/summer please visit us on August 24. It has been a wonderful summer for us at New Columbia Distillers, thank you for all the support. We will be back and open for tastings and tours September 7.
The biking around town series from PoPville came to visit us this week. See what he had to say and how you might want to ride on over to the distillery on your Velo.

DC’s Distillery to Release a New Seasonal Gin
“This is a great gin for warm weather drinks like a Gin & Tonic, Gin Rickey or Southside,” said John Uselton, Co-Owner and Distiller. “The new recipe for this batch has additional floral notes, including Spring cherry blossoms, three different citrus peels, rosemary and a bit of pepper. It’ll be bottled at a higher proof to go great in tall drinks.” The new gin will be labeled with the familiar Green Hat Gin name, but specially designated “Spring/Summer 2013″.
It’s the holiday season! That means we won’t be around the distillery when it’s time to carve up the turkey. But don’t worry, if you run out of gin while we’re closed, your local wine and spirits store will have Green Hat stocked.
Green Hat will take part in The Washingtonian’s third annual On the Rocks! festival. Come on down to Union Market on December 3 from 7:00 PM – 10:00 pm. Guests will enjoy food, music, and of course spirits, ours included!
Come celebrate with us as we commemorate the 81st anniversary of the ratification of the 21st Amendment (bye, bye prohibition). The DC Craft Bartenders Guild will host the 7th annual Repeal Day Ball at the Carnegie Library. The ball is a catered black-tie or period-era dress affair, featuring dancing to the sounds of a live jazz/swing band, photo booths and, of course, drinks that make you fell warm on the inside. We wouldn’t miss it for the world! Neither should you.
We’re really excited to be a part of 3 Stars’ third annual Artists & Artisans Holiday Extravaganza! Come pay us a visit at 3 Stars from 1:00 PM through 6:00 PM on December 14 and experience fine spirits and great beer!
