Green Hat Distilled Gin

March, 2017

The ADI Gin Summit begins tomorrow, and it’s usually a big deal, so if you are interested, you should attend. In correlation with the ADI Gin Summit, we have joined forces with One Eight, Jos. A Magnus. District Distilling Co. and Republic Restoratives for a DC collaboration Gin  that will be released this weekend.
D.C. Gin will be released in partnership with The Boutique-Y Gin Co. and all proceeds will go to Malaria No More. The 375 ml bottles will sell quickly, due to the limited quantity, each distillery will get a very small allotment, so plan accordingly. Check social media for updates on how to get a bottle.
We are excited to be involved in ADI’s first Grain-to-Glass Gin workshop hosted here at our distillery on Monday, April 3rd. Space is limited, so if you are interested, make sure you check it out.

John and Michael will be joined by International Gin consultant, David T. Smith to discuss the theory and practice of fermentation, the distillation of base spirit for gin, as well as the rectification of the spirit with botanicals. Other topics covered include: an overview of botanicals, recipe development, making botanical cuts, distillation methods (pot vs vapor vs vacuum), choice of base spirit, and day-to-day production.

Hey everyone! We know you do not need a reminder that today is Friday (Thank Gin it’s Friday), it’s been a long and cold week. Good news; We will be open tomorrow (3.25) from 1-4 pm for FREE tours and FREE tastings and $5 Happy Hour cocktails! The weather is going to be PERFECT tomorrow, so our big bay door will be open to let the sunshine in. So come and grab a bottle of Spring/Summer and have a few of DC best priced cocktails. Make sure you visit our distillery first, as we close before every one else.  If you didn’t make it to the distillery last weekend for the Spring Summer release, don’t worry, we have plenty left. See you tomorrow.

Happy Snow Day, Pi-Day, or a regular Tuesday to all our Gin friends.
Only 4 days until you can get your hands on our most anticipated Seasonal Gin release! March 18th between 1-4pm, come show your Green love and grab yourself a bottle full of spring. Let’s make this release party the best to date!
As always we will offer our Free tours, Free tastings, $5 happy hour cocktails and Spring/Summer Gin!

Added bonus: District Baking Company will be here selling her perfect spring – inspired cookies and cupcakes! District Baking Co.

As always, our distillery release events are free and require no reservations. So bring every one out to Ivy City decked in green and come ring in Spring with us the only way we know how…with some floral cherry blossom and clover notes, the aromas of sun-baked rosemary, and a bright zestiness from fresh citrus. I bet just reading that made you excited. Hooray for Spring!

Upcoming.

We have been so kindly welcomed into the Fresh Farm Farmer’s Market in DuPont Circle. Though the market sets up every Sunday, we are there every OTHER Sunday. For those of you who cannot make it to the distillery during our Saturday 1-4pm touring hours to pick up your local gin and vermouths, we are coming to the community to make your lives a bit easier.

If you are unsure whether it is our Sunday to be there, just reach out to us on social media or a phone call to the distillery. We’ll keep you up to date. (202) 733-1710
